Personal, research-based and commisioned design works ranging from graphic design to ceramics, by Neslihan Tepehan
I am a designer/researcher currently based in Edinburgh. My practice explores bodily movements, social movements, and practices of care. In doing so, I weave together emergent speculative practices to imagine inclusive and liveable futures for all, while simultaneously trying to make sense of the world we live in. I investigate the influences of material objects on the way we move and facilitate instances where we can exercise collective power and explore emergent strategies to create the safety and resilience needed as we build the futures we want to live in.
Combining my background in design, design research, and crafts, I delve into issues that interest me, aiming to create environments and relationships that can nourish and inspire others to dream and experiment. Through my practice, I investigate the felt sense of the current systems on our body and psyche while trying to foster an engagement with my practice that is experimental and open. Through this interdisciplinary approach, I strive to cultivate a space for reflection, dialogue, and collective imagination.
