Personal, research-based and commisioned design works ranging from graphic design to ceramics, by Neslihan Tepehan
I am a designer/researcher currently based in Edinburgh. In my work, I problematise the concretised understandings of the body and explore this via different modes of speculative design practice. This practice focuses on movement-based encounters with objects and how these encounters might call forth a speculative emergence. In my practice, I combine concepts and methods from philosophy, movement, choreography, material cultures and cultural studies. I am interested in the constant processuality of objects and how that inevitably contribute to the processuality of the bodies. Recently I've been investigating more modes of resistance under the current regimes of oppression and how embodied art practices might contribute to thinking through embodied forms of activism.
